Have you heard that the Great Pumpkin is coming? Instead of sitting in the Pumpkin Patch I spent some time in the Craft Coop and had a fun time making some Halloween cards – you might just find one in your mailbox this week.
All of my cards were made using the Cats & Bats suite. Papers, Card Making and Scrapbooking Stamp Sets and Thin Cuts and Dots. I also used patterns from the Originals Card Confidence Program…this is a MUST HAVE if you are a card maker.
There are over 100 patterns in the Originals Book for all occasions. The full color photos and easy to follow step by step instructions will make this one of your favorite purchases and priced at just $14.95 it will bring you a huge amount of satisfaction. You can click on the link above or the picture of the book to be directed to my webpage.
Thank you for stopping by…I hope you have a very happy Halloween.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. It’s Pick Your Own Pink Week at the Color Dare, of course we are also requiring that you combine it with Pebble, Pewter, Black, White Daisy and the Optional Silver.
Asking me to pick my own pink is like asking me who is my favorite grandchild, LOL! I settled on using the three step rose from the Beautiful You stamp set then I could use a good majority of them – Bashful, Blossom, Raspberry. I also stamped my leaves in Pebble and then the veins were stamped in Pewter. I love the grays from the Basic Palette.
After stamping my rose I decided to hop by the Atlantic Sketch Challenge to see what Michelle and the gang had up their sleeve for the week. I loved the sketch I found there so decided to incorporate it with my challenge.
The Ribbon Border Thin Cut worked just perfectly cutting our Bashful Glitter Paper as my accent piece. I chose papers from the Basic Fundamentals line and a piece of Pewter Cardstock which I embossed with the Rose Embossing Folder (you can only see the peeked out edges on my card).
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open for two weeks so you have until November 2nd to create with these colors.
Make sure that you visit our homepage to see what the other Design Team members have created. You are in for a real treat. It’s always nice to read your comments, so if you have a minute leave us some love!
This month the rich browns of Espresso are featured in the exclusive Color Club card. Accented with Bashful Glitter paper and pearls this card also features a sentiment from the Stronger Together disaster relief stamp set.
I am loving the new Basics – from the rich browns to the warm grays – this new family of neutrals is a real show stopper. What is your favorite color from the new basics collection?
Thanks for stopping by – I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a little love, I read and appreciate all your comments.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Bashful, Pomegranate, White Daisy, Black and Optional Silver.
I love this color combination, oh who am I kidding I love all the Color Dare combinations, however using Bashful just seems to make this one a tad more special – after all it is the Color of the Year!
Oh yes, that hello die cut from glitter paper is making it’s appearance once again in a Color Dare Challenge. My card front uses the “light” side of the Bashful cardstock with a layer of Pomegranate B&T from the Adventure Fundamentals packet I then layered a piece of Bashful Glitter paper onto Black cardstock and layered it at an angle – black dots finish off the card.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open for two weeks to give you plenty of time to link up!
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
Yesterday a friend called me and said “have any baby cards?” I didn’t have any pre-made, but knew I had time to whip one out so my answer was “sure, boy or girl”.
I am so in love with this Sweet Baby stamp set, but I didn’t want to do the typical pastel blues. I reached for the new Adventure Fundamental with their water-colored wash it tones down the bright vibrant colors. I stamped each of the balloons in a different color Glacier, Lagoon & Emerald and used the thin cuts (yeah no fussy cutting) to layer them in a bunch. I then stamped the string directly to the front of the card. My baby elephant was stamped on a piece of B&T from the Basic Fundamentals. Have I ever mentioned how much I love those papers?
Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget that the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge this week is to use your blues – follow the link for all the details and to link up your card.
Welcome to the October Joyful Stars Blog Hop! If you are arriving here from Lucy’s Blog you are on the right path…if you’ve started here that’s ok too, we are a small circular hop and if you follow the links you’ll eventually end up right back where you started.
I have a new love in my life…the Basics Fundamentals Creative Collection. I have always been a “color girl” and have strayed away from the Basics and Whimsy color families – oh I’ve used them…just in small doses, however with the release of a revamped Basics Palette last August my shift has changed. The warm browns and grays are a magnificent match to the Color of the Year Bashful.
My card design comes directly from our Make It From Your Heart Idea book and instead of stamping I added a die cut Happy Birthday, although retired you can still find it in the Going Soon section of my website, of Bashful Glitter Paper. A wrap of Whisper Thick Twine and Bashful Pearls finished things off.
Don’t forget when you’re placing your order this month to round up for Operation Smile – Close to My Heart is matching donations up to $10,000. When you participate in our Share a Smile promotion by purchasing any of the special items or rounding up your order in support of Operation Smile™ you will automatically qualify for a chance to win a not-yet-released stamp set from our upcoming 2018 Seasonal Expressions 1 idea book! Close to My Heart will be choosing winners throughout the month of October, so any time you place an order, you can be a winner!
I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment before hopping over to Debi’s blog – I’m sure she’ll have something fun to share.
Today I have a little treat for you made with the Cats & Bats paper packet. This folding pop up card packs a lot of wow factor – no tricks!
I have to be honest, I’ve had the instructions for this card for about a year, but I was worried that there was too much measuring and I’d not be happy with the results. Sunday afternoon I cut all the pieces and sat down to watch the video one more time through each step I paused the video and followed the instructions. I was feeling some major intimidation, but once I got the mechanism to open and close properly on my first attempt I was a happy girl.
I decorated the front of my card by stamping the cob web from the cats & bats stamp set and adding a creepy spider from the Cricut Artbooking collection I popped it up with a little 3D foam tape and used my gold shimmer brush to give him a little sparkle. I kept the inside simple just lining the panels with B&T paper and adding pieces from the complements pack. On the last panel I cut down a PML card for the sentiment. One more use for those Picture My Life Cards!
Want to learn to make a folding pop up card? Join me for my “Just the Basics” card class on Thursday, November 2nd where we’ll go beyond the basics with this fun fold.
