Welcome to the Joyful Stars August Blog Hop! If you’re coming here from my friend Michelle Loncar’s blog you are on the right path, but if you are starting here that’s ok too – we are a circular hop and if you follow the links you’ll hop right on around and end up right back where you started.
Wow has August been hot! First it’s the first month of the brand new Close to My Heart Annual Idea book and Seattle with 45+ days without rain…I don’t know about where you are from, but this girl is about to wilt. I’ve been spending lots of time in my craft room playing with new supplies – yes, it’s got A/C!!!
I wanted to introduce you to the brand new Color of the Year BASHFUL! It’s a lovely pink that goes so nicely with all our other colors especially the new basics!
My card also features a brand new M sized stamp which I repeatedly stamped on water color paper and then water colored with soft pinks and greens. The Thank You stamp is from a set that carried over All The Thanks! I finished it by adding a few clear sparkles and think I managed a very elegant card. Someone recently said that I make clean and simple look sophisticated – I’ll take that as a complement.
Thanks for stopping by…take a minute and leave me a comment and tell me what the weather is like in your neck of the woods and then hop on over to my friend Debi Brile’s That Might Look Good On A Card blog where you’re sure to find some delightful work.
Since it’s been a challenge to get in the craft room this week, I’ve had some extra time to hop around and look at some challenges and thought just maybe this little Thank You card might fit the bill for a couple of them.
My card is just a 3X3 I like to keep this size on hand to stick in customer orders – just a nice little treat to find and I think it’s important to give thanks! A Seaglass base with the rainbow paper from Prickly Pear and my all time favorite long-retired M stamp which I colored in with my Shin Han markers. I quick knot of twine and a few Prickly Pear sequins finish things off.
Seriously, if you’re ideas are waning in the heat and over whelming activity of summer take a look at some challenge blogs like Heart to Heart this week they are featuring Fabulous Fonts and Three Amigo’s Blog Hop Challenges where you’ll find Prickly Pear being featured during the month of July. Of course I can’t mention blog hop challenges without mentioning one of my favorites – Color My Heart Color Dare.
Thanks for stopping by…I can’t wait to get back in my Craft Coop and start playing with my new things.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Gold, Black, Juniper, Lemon & Sorbet.
I wanted to play around with the Flower Market Cricut cartridge and found this sweet jar – since I’ve been seeing lots of painted Mason Jars I thought I’d cut it from the black & white dot B&T. Those flowers were all layered but went together very quickly.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
Thanks for stopping by.
The Adore You stamp set on first glance may seem all hearts and flowers, perfect for Valentine’s Day, but this stamp set shouldn’t be put away after February.
This simple 4 X 4 card features a panel of Sea Glass and White Daisy cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge with the floral spray was stamped in the upper corner. I then stamped the single flower in the lower corner and added the thank you sentiment in the opposite lower corner. The flowers were colored with my ShinHan Touch Twin markers. I finished with just a sprinkling of bitty sparkles.
If you’d like to add the Adore You stamp set to your collection of stamps it’s available during the month of January for $5 with a qualifying order. I’d love to be your consultant so please either leave me a comment with how I can contact you or you can visit my webpage at http://www.papercraftingprincess.ctmh.com
Would you believe that most of the products used to make this card can be yours for free?
That’s right…at our lowest hostess level you can earn most of the products I used to make this card and if you book a gathering in January I’ll throw in a package of Clear Sparkles, too, because ‘a little bling never hurt anything’! My January calendar is filling up quickly so make sure you leave me a comment if you’d like to host a gathering of your own.
The A Wreath stamp set has a matching Thin Cuts however for this card I just stamped it on a circle and colored it with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.
Here’s a list of the products I used:
- A1193 My Acrylix® Wreath
- Z3294 Memo Fundamentals
- 1385 12″ x 12″ White Daisy Cardstock
- Z899 Black Memento™ Ink Pad
I’ll be sharing some additional artwork using the A Wreath stamp set in the near future!
Tis the season for needing to send thank you cards and this fun card has absolutely no stamping! I found this card from a sister consultant and knew I had to CaSE it (Copy and Selectively Edit). Kandi’s card was made with the adorable Whimsy Fundamentals and she was sweet enough to share the demensions – I hope you’ll go check it out and leave her some love.
I switched my papers to the striking black and white of the Uptown Fundamentals collection and added Pomegranate and Seaglass accents. The Daisy is from the Cricut Flower Market collection. I have a special fondness for daisies and even used with with chocolate colored centers in my wedding.
Thanks for stopping by!
Life is busy! I failed miserably for this weeks Color My Heart Color Dare. As of yesterday I still had all my Gold and Yellow embellishments spread all over the table in the Craft Coop. Perhaps it was too messy to be creative…I fixed that!
Color Dare #207 is to use Saffron, Canary, White Daisy & Gold. As I sifted through my piles I discovered an entire pack of this special paper just begging to be used. I pulled out a sheet of the yellow floral and I wondered what I could pair with it and then it hit me…it was like flowers being thrown to a ballerina which brought out my Safari Ballet stamp set once again. I’m pretty sure this is my most used stamp set.
It’s hard to see in the picture, but the ballerina’s tutu is cut from a piece of vellum embossed with gold dots and the bow on the tail is gold glitter paper. I’m in need of some thank you cards so this one is already heading off in the mail.
Have you made time to create your Color My Heart Color Dare card this week? I hope you have because it just makes life all better when you get to spend some time crafting.
Thanks for stopping by…see you Friday!
