Springy Hello

Did you see the cute Easter Tags on the Make It From Your Heart blog on Friday?

Although I don’t make Easter Baskets anymore I do make Easter cards, so I just got my Cricut busy cutting all the shapes I needed and luckily they listed the sizes in their post!

I used some papers from the Rustic Fundamentals and a little piece of Seaglass Glitter paper for some sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a bit of your Monday with me.  If you have a minute leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite springtime flower is.

April Specials with Close to My Heart

Hopefully, April isn’t going to bring quite as many showers…we’ve been pretty wet here in the Pacific Northwest.  On one hand it gives me plenty of time to be crafty on another hand it makes it a little difficult to enjoy any of the spring bulbs that are popping up and bringing a little bit of happiness to the dark days.

This is the last month for the Seasonal Expressions one so make sure that you get your wish list completed because May will bring an entire new line of products.

Let’s visit the Close to My Heart April Specials:

Coffee Loving Blog Hop

I’ve been crazy busy playing catch up…hubby took me out of town for a couple of days and I really just wanted to be playing in some really fun blog hop challenges.

My friend Sue talked me into playing in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – it’s full of amazing art so grab a cuppa joe and visit all the fun entrants.

Last Saturday when I was hanging out with my CTMH peeps I found this cool map paper at the local stamp store and then on another rack around the corner I found the coffee cup brad.  Perfect for this Starbucks loving girl.  I used a sentiment from Close to My Heart that has since retired, but still worked well.

Thanks for stopping by…I promise to post a few more things over the weekend.

Tea for Heart to Heart

This week the theme at the Heart to Heart Challenge blog is Tea Time.  Although the March Close to My Heart Stamp of the month was a fun tea-cup themed stamp set, I decided I wanted to do something a little different.

I grabbed some left over papers from my Sugar Rush paper packet layered them up and stamped one of the sentiments from the SOTM in the bottom corner.  I then cut the cute tea pot and overlay from the Flower Market Cricut cartridge.  You can’t see real well in my photo, but I used the clear shimmer brush on the tea pot and added a clear sparkle gem to the lid.  So easy and fun!

There was a bit of a question if I would get home in time to get my card and post done, but when this girl is on a mission she usually accomplishes it.  I had fun playing along with each of the weekly challenges at Heart 2 Heart this month.  I hope you’ve enjoyed my posts.

I challenge you to stop by one of the many challenge blogs (preferably the Color Dare since I’m a Design Team member) and get some inspiration.

Birthday Party in a Box

One of my favorite things to do is surprise someone with a homemade birthday card, what’s even more fun is when you send them an entire party in a box!

I made this cute box card using cuts from the Cricut so although it’s full of details it didn’t take much time.  In my humble opinion there are no better colors for a birthday than the Adventure color family.

I reached for solid cardstock  and fun patterns from the Fundamentals Paper Collection to complete my card.  With 24 12X12 sheets (2 each of 12 designs) you have plenty to choose from to make completing cohesive projects easier than ever before.  Priced at just $19.95 they are a terrific basic for your scrapbooking or card-making needs.  They also have matching complements and ribbon – woohoo!

If you’d like to learn more about the fundamental line please let me know the patterns are so much fun to play with.

Thanks for stopping by…I look forward to hearing your comments on this card.

Rock & Roll Dragonfly – Color Dare #236

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Pacifica, Emerald, Black & White.

I love these deep rich jewel tones, quite different than all the pinks, oranges and lavender I’ve been creating with lately.  My card was quite simple and I used an old favorite rock & roll technique on my dragonfly.

I took a close up so you could maybe see a little better.  First I inked it in black and stamped it and used the thin cut to die cut, then I inked him all up in Emerald and just rolled the tips of the wings in Pacifica die cut and then cut the wings apart and used a tiny bit of foam tape to mount them to the black body.  I finished it off with a couple of black dots on the ends of the wing.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!

I hope you’ll try the rock & roll technique it’s such a fun way to add extra color to your images.  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find some crafty time this weekend.
