Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Black, White Daisy, Seaglass, Raspberry, Emerald and Silver.
I wanted to make sure that I got a little more artwork completed with the Operation Smile True Love stamp set before it retires at the end of July. A Seaglass flower from the All Together complements to layer on top of the silver shimmer trim and a few white dots finish things off.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
What is the one thing in the current catalog that you are going to miss the most? Leave me a comment if you have a chance.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sometimes this is how it all starts, a couple snippets a paper and a few Cricut cuts – in this case a daffodil and a rain boot. I would love a pair of rain boots on most days in the great Pacific Northwest, but alas they have avoided being added to my overflowing collection of shoes and boots.
Now on to show how it all goes together…
I stamped the background with Lagoon Ink using one of the Flower Market Coordinating Stamp sets – those blotches reminded me of raindrops. I added the “hello” sentiment another cut from the Flower Market cartridge.
If you have a minute I love to read your comments and you can even let me know if you own rain boots! Thanks for stopping by!
One of my favorite things to do is surprise someone with a homemade birthday card, what’s even more fun is when you send them an entire party in a box!
I made this cute box card using cuts from the Cricut so although it’s full of details it didn’t take much time. In my humble opinion there are no better colors for a birthday than the Adventure color family.
I reached for solid cardstock and fun patterns from the Fundamentals Paper Collection to complete my card. With 24 12X12 sheets (2 each of 12 designs) you have plenty to choose from to make completing cohesive projects easier than ever before. Priced at just $19.95 they are a terrific basic for your scrapbooking or card-making needs. They also have matching complements and ribbon – woohoo!
If you’d like to learn more about the fundamental line please let me know the patterns are so much fun to play with.
Thanks for stopping by…I look forward to hearing your comments on this card.
The challenge on the Heart to Heart Blog this week is to use your favorite tools…my first thought was to go on and on about the thin cuts – I do love them and they are on sale this month. Then I thought about all the other tools that I use in card making and the one thing that is consistently used is our How To Books.
The Make It From Your Heart pattern books are a staple on my crafting desk…I’ve actually used them so much that the covers are falling off! When you find a pattern that you love, give it a twist – change the papers, change the orientation, make it yours!
You might recognize my card as one from the Some Kinda Wonderful Workshop Your Way and you’re not mistaken. If you find a pattern that you like – give it a twist. It just so happens that the young lady I’m making this card for claims that she “HATES PINK!” I think she’s just misguided, LOL, but to keep the peace I changed my papers to a fun lagoon heart B&T from the Adventure Fundamentals collection.
A good pattern or “card sketch” isn’t hard to find when you turn to the pages of one of the many Close to My Heart How To Books.
I hope you’ll take a minute to let me know what you think of my card and what you’re favorite tool from Close to My Heart is.
This year I decided to participate in the One Little Word workshop by Ali Edwards. I chose my 2017 word “BE” a verb meaning to exist or occur. I took a few minutes today to create a quick scrapbook layout titled “Be Happy” because that is my main goal this year.
I loved the combination of Blossom, Raspberry and Lagoon that was used on this layout in the Annual Inspirations and decided that I would recreate it to record a couple of “Happy” memories. The Adventure Fundamentals and Good Life Complements made quick work of this single page layout.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll already know that I have a new calf on the farm. Unfortunately, Chip’s mom has no motherly instincts so I’ve been doing bottle feeding since Sunday. Although it’s a sad situation it did make me happy and is something I won’t soon forget.
