Sliding with The Long Way Home

Happy Monday!  I told you this stamp set was getting lots of use!  Today I’m featuring it in a slider card…I love cards with movement and this one was so darn fun to make and easy too!

I knew I wanted to feature the bus this time – I’ve done several cards with the car, but I just love this VW Bus.  The palm tree is cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge and the sun in punched with the 1″ circle punch and the rest of the components of the card are fussy cut.  Notice the street sign, the pole is made with shimmer trim that has been cut down using our trimmer (it’s about an 1/8 of an inch wide)  to complete the card I layered some of the purple enamel hearts over the hearts that appear on the bus and on the heart on the inside of the card.  You can find the instructions for the Easy Slider Card here.

What will you do with the adorable stamp set?  Don’t forget to get yours ordered before the end of June.  If you don’t have a consultant yet, I’d love to be yours – you can visit my webpage here.

Thank you for stopping by – I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment about this card.

I’ve been meeting with some sister consultants monthly to create with the Stamp of the Month.  The inspiration and challenge they bring to push me to another level is so much fun.  My buddy Darlys (mentioned above) is one of those consultants!

When I saw the camera stamps I immediately thought film strip – my first passion in life is photography and I spent many years developing my own film and printing the pictures.  Now I just take them…100’s of them every month, but I digress.  Back to my card…I couldn’t help including the Operation Smile promotional stamp set Animal Greetings.  I kept them simple stamping in black to preserve the look of a negative.  I finished off my card simply with a purple glitter heart from the Enamel and Glitter Duos Purple Hearts.

2 For 1 AHSC #138

I’ve decided that my mind works in mysterious ways.  First of all, when I looked at this weeks sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge all I could see was water – waves upon waves.  Maybe I need a vacation to the ocean!

I decided that I wanted to do something totally out of the box for me so I started thumbing through my Cricut guides and these glasses popped right off the page at me.  They have wavy lines – right?  Then I decided since I hadn’t played with my Operation Smile stamp set yet that this cute little mouse  with huge glasses would be just the stamp to use!  Totally goofy right?  But I wasn’t done!

I’d also seen a card in the Annual Inspirations Book that I have been wanting to recreate – Idea Book = Inspiration!!!  So, my Cricut got another workout this time cutting a background with lines and scallops.

Since I only wanted the bottom half of the card to have the design I cut part of the die cut piece off.  I then lined the card with shimmer trim (that was the hardest part making sure it showed where I wanted).  I then stamped the card with a soon to be released stamp “You’re One of a Kind”!  This card has a LOT of sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by – I love reading your comments so please let me know what you think.  Stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to see what everyone else is doing with this sketch.

Wild Wonders

I have a baby shower to go to tomorrow and thought I better make a cute card to go on my package!  I LOVE the Wild Wonders set, not only for the cuteness of the animals but because they are Cricut compatible with the Artbooking cartridge from Close to My Heart.

Do you recognize this paper packet?  It’s been retired for a long time and I even found almost all the Stickease in the package too!

I loved the idea of a speech bubble for the hippo on the inside of the card.  Our friend is a single daddy and although he is super excited, I think it’s going to be a lot different now that baby is home from the hospital!

Mini Love

I love mini albums…they are perfect for small gifts, using as brag books and of course just to remember special times.  Close to My Heart offers several styles and I thought the Hip Pics album was my favorite until the My Creations Mini Folio was introduced to my life.

This sweet little mini album has 5 4X4 Kraft accordion fold panels to decorate any way you want.  It’s Kraft hard cover keeps everything safely tucked away and tied up with a cute little black string around a plastic tab.

Miss B recently entered double digits and after her party we sat down together and picked her favorite pictures and then I ordered them in Studio J in just the right sizes without having to do extra cropping! Cuts from the Artbooking cartridge added a little whimsy.  It’s now ready to go in the mail as a surprise for our sweet girl so she can have those memories close at hand.

I hope you’ve enjoyed stopping by today if you’d like to purchase a Mini Folio click here I promise it’s the best $4.95 you’ll ever spend and with Mother’s and Father’s  Day just around the corner it’s a special way to show a little love.

I chose to use the Seaside Papers to create a layout of a fun weekend at Ocean Shores with my hubby.  The left page is copied directly from the Seaside WOTG, however I wanted to include more pictures on the left side of the page so I turned to the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 and found layout 09 for my right hand page.  The banners carried over to tie the two pages together.  I was hoping that my photos would arrive from Studio J in time to post, but have no fear you can have a mental image of me on a pink moped until they arrive and I get the photos updated.

The May Stamp of the Month has such great accent pieces for a scrapbook pages.  I stamped the Enjoy the Moment in Pear ink, fussy cut it and tucked it behind the photo mat.  I also stamped the “date” in black on the pennant and then hand wrote in the date.  I can see this stamp getting lots of use.

A Special 1st

I’m back again with another layout from the Album Retreat that I attended in October 2013.  I’m finally getting the pages put together and am loving how they are turning out.

When I first saw this page it spoke “school” to me, but I had other things in mind.

My ruler accent became an indicator for Miss H’s first birthday.  I’m going to recreate this layout for her sister’s first day of 4th grade that happened this past fall.  It just proves when you think outside the box there are all kinds of possibilities.

DSCN1819I couldn’t let the chance go by to not show a cute picture of this adorable little face covered in frosting.  What I really wish I had was a still shot of her other grandma also with a frosting covered face…oh well, the video will have to suffice.

Thanks for stopping by…just a few more layouts to do and I’ll be on to new things!
