Still Dreamin’

Have you got your June Stamp of the Month yet?  It’s been a LONG time since I’ve been so in love with a stamp set, but Ice Cream Dreams captured my heart as soon as I got the idea book almost a year ago.  I promised myself that I wouldn’t ink it before it’s release because I knew I’d want to share all these cute creations.

I have three grandkids getting ready to start their summer vacation from school so I made them each a card and put a gift card for Baskin & Robbins so they could treat themselves to a successful year of school behind them.

You might have noticed that I’ve been missing from the Color Dare Challenge for a couple of weeks and I’m happy to say I’m back playing today.  The colors are those of the Jackson Paper Packet – Barn Red, Juniper, Glacier, Cocoa & Colonial White.  This card is a slight 4.75 X 3 and made with the Jackson papers.  My Fudgecicle is made using the retired CTMH Alcohol Markers in both shades of Barn Red.  I’m so glad I don’t ever get rid of things because it was just the perfect color.  The stick was Juniper and although it appeared dried up I got enough color out of it for the stick.

This next card is for our little Princess graduating from Kindergarten.  I haven’t seen her for a couple of years, but know that she loves bling and sparkle as much as her grandma does.  I used retired papers from the Dream Pop collection and I colored the truck with the Shin Han Markers…it seemed pretty whimsical and just the look I was going for.  I still wanted more bling so I added rhinestones to the tire centers and then decided to cut the canopy out of some Teal Glitter paper – that was a challenge as you can’t stamp on it very well.

My final card is for our sweet Miss B! I sure miss her being underfoot, but I’ve managed to send her at least one card a week since she went to live with her dad.  I know that she’s saving them so I went a little extra special on her card.  Shame on grandma!!!  I thought the Spin Card (which are retiring boo-hoo) would fascinate her.  I used some Chalk It Up papers and Teal Shimmer Trim on the front and popped up the sentiment with some thin 3D foam tape.  One side of the spinner has the Sundae and the other side has that cute Puppy.  Miss B has done very well in 4th grade and I’m so proud of all her accomplishments after not being in school since a few weeks in the 1st grade.

I think it’s really important to celebrate our grandkids accomplishments even though we don’t see them on a regular basis so they know how much they are loved.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to get your Ice Cream Dreams stamp ordered you only have until the end of June!114
